The Nexus One is Google’s first mobile phone and boasts an impressive specification list, making it a leader in the smartphone market and already proving a hot seller in shops such as phones4u.
The specification list for the Nexus One includes a 3.7inch AMOLED 480x800 WGA capacitive touchscreen while the handset itself is quite slim and is just 11.5mm deep and weighs 130 grams. The handset features four main touch buttons at the bottom of the screen that are used to go back, open the menu, go to your homepage and to search.
The 1GHz Snapdragon processor smoothly runs the Nexus One’s 3D graphics as well as running multiple applications simultaneously. It will also automatically adjust the screen brightness to save your battery. The official battery life supports 7 hours of talktime, 250 hours standby, 5 hours of 3G internet use, 7 hours of video playback and 20 hours of audio playback.
The Nexus One also has a 5 megapixel camera including flash, autofocus and geotagging capabilities to capture those special moments and also has 1GB mobile data, the Google Maps navigation system with turn-by-turn directions, an expandable memory of up to 32GB, Flash capabilities and advanced voice recognition software.
As well as supporting Android 2.2 it also supports the use of Google Voice, which allows you to assign a Google Voice number to your phone and then use it to make any outgoing calls or texts. You can also use the voice keyboard in almost any app on the phone, selecting the microphone option to speak into the phone, which will then convert it into text for you.
The Nexus One is the first foray for Google into the smartphone market and will definitely set the standard of future generations of Android phones.
