3 Android Touchscreens We Love

Everyone loves a touchscreen. In fact, some people like touchscreens so much that they become true touchscreen evangelists, spreading the good word about how touchscreens provide a much better mobile experience. Of course, you might find that you get to a point where you need to balance your need for a touch screen with the type of mobile platform out there.

Now, we're trying to be fair here, because there are a lot of great mobile operating systems out there. However, if you're going to lean towards something that will let you experiment with different features and customizations, then why not lean towards Android?

If you need a bit of a nudge and suggestions on touchscreens for Android, you're definitely in the right place. There are a few Android touchscreens that we fell in love with immediately. Now, some might not be the newest ones on the market, but that doesn't matter -- in fact, sometimes it's good to revisit phones that were hot once and have some of the hype removed now that they've been on the market for a while. This is a tip that a lot of cell phone buffs use to get previously-hot phones for cheap -- the technology is still hot, even though everyone has moved on to the next shiny thing on the market.

We've got three touchscreens for you:

1. HTC Evo 4G

HTC Evo 4G

The EVO caught a lot of attention when it came out -- almost more than the HTC Incredible, which is also an Android phone. However, the touchscreen is what took up a lot of attention, because people wanted to have the ability to quickly text without having to rely on physical keys. If you're a true touch screen fan, then you'll love this phone. On the other hand, if you don't want to give up the physical keyboard, the Evo 4G doesn't force you to. You can always slide out the phone and get the physical keys that you're used to. A kickstand, 8MP camera plus an additional camera and a 32GB microSD card give life and character to this phone, which is why we can't help but recommend it big time.

It's currently a Sprint phone, though there are rumors that it'll migrate its way to other carriers eventually.

2. HTC Desire Z

HTC Desire Z

Like the Evo, this is a phone that also tries to give you the best of both worlds. In our opinion, we think that the Evo does it a bit better than the Desire Z does, but the touchscreen's color and vibrancy is beyond words. You can look at the HTC Desire Z and tell that a lot of time and consideration were taken to make the visual display the star of the show.

3. Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Samsung Galaxy S 4G

OK, so we got a little HTC happy for the first two picks. You have to understand that when it come sot the Android platform, HTC is really running things right now. Other manufacturers seem to be struggling to keep up with HTC, which is a real shame. However, we're willing to contend that there are some other manufacturers that are definitely embracing the Android platform and trying to get the most out of the hardware available. The Galaxy S is one of those phones that are definitely giving the HTC lineup a run for its money.

The touchscreen is lightning quick and it's one of the big features that define this phone. On top of having a great touchscreen, the phone also has great space -- you get 1GB of onboard RAM, plus the capacity for a 32GB microSD card. The phone comes with an 16GB card to get you started.

There's something for everyone when it comes to the touchscreen world, and this is even true when you turn to just the Android line-up. So, tell us -- which one is your favorite phone? Sound off in the comments -- we would love to hear from you!
