Android at Its Best - The Motorola MILESTONE XT

A great phone is one thing, but an exceptional phone is a completely different story. Indeed, if you're looking for a phone that does more than just settle for being a fancy paperweight, then it's time to look at the line of Android phones. As time passes, the Android platform brings more and more functionality. In fact, it's safe to say that if you're looking for the best blend of user friendliness and dynamic functions, Android is definitely for you.

If you're looking for a phone to start with, you really can't go wrong with the Motorola MILESTONE XT.

Features are definitely rich on this phone, but if you're used to the Motorola lineup of phones, it's hard to really be surprised by the fact they've sent another great phone down the pipe. What stands out about the Motorola Milestone XT is a HDMI output jack that will let you connect the phone right up to a TV set for 720p playback. 720p will get you some pretty sharp videos, but it won't be as crisp as 1080p would be. However, most people will be happier about the fact they can show off videos more than about total video quality -- it's certainly better than the standard video that you usually associate with cell phones.

Another interesting feature is the ability to write true Chinese characters on the large screen -- weighing in at 3.7 inches, by the way. It's clear that Motorola was definitely thinking international on the XT, not just aiming at users in the United States and Canada for this little number.

If you're looking for a full keyboard from the Milestone XT, you may not want to get your hopes up -- it doesn't have one. Everything is touchscreen-based, which might make this phone one to pass on if you are a hardcore text messaging users. On the other hand, if you're looking for a more casual phone that will definitely get you noticed, you really can't go wrong with this phone. After all, not everyone wants to sit around and email and text all day, but they still deserve a really sharp phone that has a large screen, good camera features (8 megapixels is nothing to sneeze at!), and enough processing power to zip along nicely as you tend to all the other things in life.

So, is the Milestone XT700 really worth checking out? Definitely.
